First Baptist Church Orange is prayerfully seeking a full time Student Minister to join our staff and lead a Christ-centered ministry for middle school, high school, and college students. We are a growing church in Southeast Texas with a strong commitment to biblical teaching, intentional discipleship, and meaningful relationships.
Our mission is simple and weighty: building a community of disciples who glorify God for generations. We believe student ministry plays a vital role in shaping faith that lasts beyond graduation and into adulthood.
WHO WE ARE
FBC Orange is a healthy, forward-looking church with an average Sunday attendance of around 600. Our congregation is supportive of student ministry, values deep relationships, and believes the gospel is best shared clearly, faithfully, and compassionately. Our student ministry includes students from numerous local schools as well as homeschool families.
We have a well-established and active student ministry, a spacious and recently refreshed student ministry facility, and a staff culture that is collaborative, encouraging, and eager to try new things in order to present the timeless message of Jesus with clarity and excellence.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The Student Minister will lead and develop a ministry that helps students know Christ, grow in their faith, and live out the gospel in their homes, schools, and community. This role includes teaching Scripture faithfully, discipling students toward spiritual maturity, equipping and empowering volunteers, and partnering closely with parents as primary disciple-makers.

Job Description: Student Minister
DESCRIPTION:
The Student Minister is responsible for developing and leading a Christ-centered student ministry that engages middle and high school students, ministers to college students, supports parents, and aligns with the mission and values of First Baptist Church Orange (FBCO). This includes planning weekly gatherings, discipleship groups, retreats, mission opportunities, and outreach events that help students grow in their faith, build lasting relationships, and live sent in their schools, colleges, and community.
The Student Minister will shepherd students with care, teach the Word of God faithfully, and disciple them toward spiritual maturity. He will recruit, equip, and empower adult leaders to serve effectively, and work in close partnership with parents as the primary disciple-makers of their teens and young adults.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Model FBCO’s vision for discipleship through growing in faith, strengthening relationships, and serving the community.
● Establish and foster exemplary relationships with church staff, students, volunteers, parents, and members.
● Regularly attend worship services, church-wide events, and staff meetings.
● Maintain a healthy walk with Christ, personal integrity, and a family life that reflects the gospel.
● Maintain an appropriate and Christlike presence on social media.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Teaching & Discipleship: Prepare and deliver biblically faithful and engaging lessons for weekly student gatherings. Provide opportunities for students to grow through discipleship groups, Bible studies, and mentoring relationships.
● Leadership Development: Recruit, train, and invest in a team of adult and student leaders to serve in student ministry.
● Parent Partnership: Communicate regularly with parents, provide resources to equip them as disciple-makers, and create avenues for parent involvement.
● Events & Activities: Plan and oversee camps, retreats, mission trips, service projects, and fellowship opportunities that deepen faith and relationships.
● Outreach & Evangelism: Foster an environment where students invite their friends, engage in personal evangelism, and participate in community outreach.
● School Involvement: Build relationships with local schools through presence at events, partnerships with administrators, and ministry involvement that blesses students, teachers, and staff.
● College Ministry: Provide pastoral care, discipleship, and ministry opportunities for college students and young adults, helping them navigate faith, relationships, and calling.
● Pastoral Care: Provide pastoral support, counseling, and guidance to students and families as needs arise.
● Administration: Oversee student ministry budget, maintain safety policies, and ensure alignment with the overall mission and values of FBCO.
● To work and cooperate with the Pastor and Staff in accomplishing the overall mission of the church
● To Perform other duties as assigned.
