The Student Ministry of First Baptist Church is designed to help students in the 7th-12th grades develop skills and habits that will help them grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Students are challenged through a combination of Bible studies and activities to build patterns in their lives that will help them become the adults that God created them to be.
LIFELINE is a time of Bible Study and life learning applications held on Sunday Nights. FOOTHOLD is a time of Praise, Worship, and Bible Study that takes place each Wednesday night. FOOTHOLD encourages students to (1) set apart Christ as Lord in their hearts and (2) be ready to give an answer to anyone who asks them about the hope they possess. This is done through a time of group singing and intense Bible study in a relaxed setting. FOOTHOLD offers students the chance to "refuel" their spiritual tanks in the middle of the week.
ASSURANCE (Youth Choir) is a joint effort of both the Student and Music Ministries. Meeting at 5:30 p.m. each Sunday night, ASSURANCE sings in Worship services periodically and goes on a Mission Tour each summer. SPECIAL EVENTS make up a large part of any Student Ministry, and there are many to choose from throughout the year at First Baptist Church.
SUMMARY The overall mission of the Student Ministry is to lead students into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, to teach them how to spend time with him daily, to train them to share their faith in him boldly, and to help them become men and women of character and integrity who follow the Lord faithfully. 01/23/2010 |
